ASEF7 Nottingham, UK Conference #ASEF7 #ASEFEd #ASEFInnolab
The ASEF7 INNOLAB held its conference in Nottingham, UK, from 24-28 August 2026. The conference gathered around 70 researchers from 40+ countries. It was a full program with keynotes, time for all the 9 whitepaper teams to present their papers as well as to get feedback from the other teams, and from all participants, as well as the organizers. We also had plenty of time to work and to have informal meetings with our own teams, but also with the other participants, and the coordinators from ASEF7 and from the Nottingham team. We also evaluated our own whitepaper and had the chance to formulate our value proposition and core message for our whitepaper. Our proposition is:
"This whitepaper empowers universities to sustain and scale trusted and inclusive knowledge in the age of AI by strengthening open education, ensuring that no one is left behind."
It was also time for voting for the best whitepaper, and ours was ranked as the second best. Congrats to us on the team.

Our presentation and our team and we wer keen to prsnet our work as a joint teams work

The entire researchteam, 70 researchers from approximately over 40 countries
Our topic is the triangulation of Open Education/OER, AI, and the SDGs. Our main question is: How can Quality Open Education shape the future of AI and sustainability? The central premise of this white paper is captured in the mantra: Human Wisdom. Trusted AI. Sustainable Futures. These three pillars are mutually reinforcing. Human wisdom provides the ethical judgment, critical thinking, and contextual understanding that AI cannot replace. Trusted AI enables responsible and transparent use of technology while respecting human values and rights. Open Education provides the knowledge infrastructure that allows reliable, multilingual, openly accessible educational resources to be created, shared, adapted, and continuously improved in support of the SDGs.
